Why people go
London is our most-booked long-haul city, and much of it is not tourism at all: family visits, students starting university, medical referrals and school expeditions. Those trips have different needs from a holiday, and the visa work is usually the hard part.
For leisure we build London with the UK beyond it — the Cotswolds, Edinburgh, the Lake District — and often combine it with a European city on the same ticket.
