Why people go
The obvious beach finish to a Kenyan safari, and one of the few places where the flight is shorter than the drive would be. Stone Town is a UNESCO-listed Swahili trading town of carved doors and narrow lanes; the north and east coasts are the resort side, and the diving at Mnemba is the best in the region.
We use it both ways: as a recovery stop after game drives, and as a standalone long weekend for clients who want warm water without a long-haul flight.
What you will actually do
- Stone Town — UNESCO World Heritage, and a genuinely walkable old town
- Mnemba Atoll diving and snorkelling
- Spice farm tours and the Jozani forest red colobus
- Nungwi and Kendwa for swimmable beaches at all tides
